Optimation appoints new Chief Operating Officer

Carl Church has been appointed to the new role of Chief Operating Officer for leading NZ-owned systems integrator Optimation Group. He will lead Operational, Financial and Commercial functions across the Group’s three businesses, Optimation New Zealand, Optimation Group Australia, and Presto Resourcing Options.

Carl Church websiteOver the past 18 months, the Optimation Group has grown rapidly in size and complexity. Highlights include Optimation New Zealand's geographic expansion into Christchurch; the continued success of Optimation Group Australia (OGA), with strong demand for its enterprise intelligence, content intelligence, and strategic risk management solutions; and the creation of Presto Resourcing Options, which has quickly become a key player in New Zealand's IT recruitment and resourcing market. The COO role was created to position the Group for further growth and support our on-going drive for operational excellence.

Carl works cross-functionally across all areas of the business. He has a focus on enabling Optimation to execute on business strategies and grow value, and has specific responsibility for Optimation’s finance, legal and business operations teams. Prior to joining Optimation, Carl was the COO at a maturing disrupter in the energy sector, and before that he held a regional leadership role within Deloitte's Asia Pacific Financial Services practice.

Carl is a Chartered Accountant and has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand. He is originally from Southland, of Ngāi Tahu descent, and has lived and worked in London, Hong Kong and New Zealand.
