Optimation has completed the establishment of a high caliber Practice Leadership team consisting of individuals who have all demonstrated an exceptional level of ability and committed career focus in their areas of specialty. They are responsible for guiding the company to achieving the highest standards of capability and professionalism in its chosen areas of expertise:
Optimation's Practice Leadership team will ensure Optimation continually update skills and certifications, and provide individual mentoring and support in career development. They are also working to embed processes and practices across the company that improve the customer experience from initial contact with Optimation through to delivery and on-going support.
Greg Patchell, formerly Telecom's Group General Manager Technology and Shared Services and now operating as an independent contractor, has been advising Optimation as it develops its practice leadership team and supporting business practices. Patchell has had extensive experience implementing practice leadership in large organisations such as Telecom and Westpac, and says it is fantastic to see a company like Optimation invest the time and resources required.
"This requires a business to take a long-term view of developing its skills, people and capability, rather than just being focused on short-term revenue generation. You have to look in-depth at your talent pool and at the type of business you want to have in the future, and then be prepared to invest the money, time and resources into training, support structures and incentive schemes to achieve that vision."
National Technology Manager James Roberts says the Practice Leadership initiative delivers benefits for both customers and Optimation employees.
"Over the years, Optimation has been fortunate in building a pool of extremely well-qualified and talented individuals. This is about taking our brightest stars and empowering them to grow their discipline in the company," says Roberts. "For customers, the value proposition is simple: they know they will always get the best people for the job, because we are embedding that culture of excellence throughout the company and putting in place the structures that are needed to ensure consistency and repeatability."
