On 5 March, Wellington will be buzzing with eclectic, inspiring ideas worth sharing at TEDxWellington 2016 and once again, Optimation is proud to be supporting the event. When we decided to become a founding sponsor of TEDx back in 2012, we saw it as the perfect opportunity to align Optimation, an innovator and driver of new possibilities in the IT space, with an event and a community that shared those same ambitions, but across every space. The theme of this year’s TEDxWellington is particularly fitting for us, because it is “Trust”, the basis of all great partnerships.

TEDxWellington is an event 100% dedicated to:

  • Bringing people together to change the world through sharing inspiring stories (TED talks) which motivate and nurture new ideas.
  • Leveraging technology, education, and design to help create a better future for Wellingtonians (and the planet).
  • Investing in a global community who believe in the power of ideas worth spreading.

We're delighted to be able to share the TEDxWellington experience with some of a number of our customers, and to collaborate with them to imagine creative possibilities and unleash potential in their businesses. The line up of speakers and performers for 2016 is sure to provide plenty of inspiration. Past highlights have included biomedical researcher Laura Green, a noted science communicator; Alan Schaaf Founder and CEO of the imgur.com image sharing website; and Gabe Davidson, entrepreneur and co-founder of  beloved boutique chocolate-maker the Wellington Chocolate Factory.

At the 2014 event, Dylan Coburn, a locally-based internationally successful animator and founder of The Action Station used his artistic skills to illustrate a wonderful talk on how we can all inject more creativity into our professional lives:

We also loved Guy Ryan's talk 'A Vision for New Zealand'. Guy is passionate about young New Zealanders unleashing their potential to change the world. He's worked with a crew of remarkable people to create initiatives including Inspiring Stories Trust, Festival for the Future, and New Zealand’s first social enterprise accelerator programme, Live the Dream.

Speakers for this year's event will be announced soon, and tickets for TEDxWellington 2016 go on sale Friday February 5. Visit TedXWellington for more details, and to keep updated on what’s happening in the lead up to the event, like our Facebook page.

We can’t wait to see you there!
